I have had a few requests for the brownies that I had posted on our Facebook page, so now seems a good time to share it with our readers. This is not my recipe but one that I have had for a while and decided to give it a shot for my baby boy’s two week birthday.
½ cup butter
1 cup white sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla exract
1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
½ cup all-purpose flour
¼ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon baking powder
For the frosting
3 tablespoons butter, softened
3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
1 tablespoon honey
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup confectioners’ sugar
- In a pan, melt the butter, remove from the heat and stir it with sugar, eggs, and vanilla in a mixing bowl.
- Beat in the cocoa powder, flour, salt and baking powder, and spread into a prepared square pan.
- Bake for 30 minutes in a pre-heated oven at 175 degrees Celsius.
- While the brownies are still warm, mix all the ingredients for the frosting and spread.
I chose to decorate it with sprinkles, you can do the same, or choose any other topping of your choice. Alternatively, you can combine warm brownies with vanilla ice-cream for a great combination.
Do let us know how yours turned out.
